On March 29th of 2022, eight UN (United Nations) peacekeepers were victims of a tragic helicopter crash on the eastern side of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Six of the crew members were from Pakistan, two were military staff from Russia and Serbia. None of them survived.

Recently, a Tik Tok video showing 85-year-old Pope Francis, the current leader of the Roman Catholic Church and the first South American pope, went viral. It has been about a month since the clip got released in which the Pope referenced his partiality to 'a little tequila' , and thousands of people have been tweeting, posting, and making memes about this amusing situation.

Protests sparked in Sudan, Khartoum in October of 2021 after the Sudanese military, led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, took control of the government in a military coup. After the military claimed that “their natural place was to judge developments in Sudan, and bring out the guns as they saw fit,” dozens of government officials were arrested. Given the threat this brings to democracy, citizens' discontent grew into uprisings: “Sudanese pro-democracy protesters have been resolute in calling for an unconditional end to military rule”. Given the lack of external aid and international intervention, protesters have to rely upon themselves to determine Sudan’s future.

On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court of the United States released its official opinion, where the justices voted 6-3 to overturn Roe v. Wade, a ruling that had protected the legality of abortion for almost 50 years.
