US sends COVID-19 vaccines worldwide

When we think about which countries are getting their population vaccinated the fastest, we cannot stop mentioning the United States. Approximately 48.5% of its population is already vaccinated. With such numbers it is not old news that it is giving away millions of vaccines to countries with few resources that cannot afford vaccines.

President Biden is shipping millions of doses to Latin American countries this week as part of his commitment to playing a leadership role in ending the health emergency. One million doses of Johnson & Johnson's Covid-19 vaccine will be shipped to Bolivia on Thursday, one million doses of Pfizer will be shipped to Paraguay on Friday, and 1.5 million doses of Moderna will be shipped to Guatemala on Wednesday, according to the White House information. It has also contributed to Covax (a vaccine distributor for low-income countries), giving more than 2 million vaccines. He has not only distributed vaccines around the world but in the country they have fought against the pandemic by verifying payment of a stimulus check, vaccinating their population against COVID-19 and applying for unemployment benefits.

The USA has donated 80 million vaccine doses from its supply to other countries and pushed 500 million vaccine doses to donate to nearly 100 developing countries. According White House information, 75% of the 80 million vaccines that they donated would be shared with the global vaccination program called Covid-19 Vaccines Global Access (Covax), and 25% would be shared directly with countries in need.

Finally, we can say that this pandemic is beginning to be under control thanks to the help of countries like the United States and vaccination.
